YOUR HOME IS THE GREATEST REFLECTION OF WHO YOU ARE.
It’s your sanctuary.
It is the one place where you can walk in, sit down, and be yourself. Whether you rent it, remodeled it, or built it with your own hands, let’s face it, you care for your home because this is your safe haven.
Home -- The one place you can hang out in your pajamas, and it doesn’t matter if you want to be left alone and feel the need to escape. It’s your hide away, or your entertainment destination, and forever memories are made in this place. It’s meant to be filled with family and friends, because it’s a shrine of things that have the biggest impression on you, and you display these collections to remind yourself of the meanings behind them.
Your home should be the subject of your life, your topic, and the theme requires no extra effort -- only the work of gathering things to decorate it. You no longer just buy “stuff” out of impulse. You actually pick up items in the store, hold them in your hand, and think about where you will use the object or picture it in a certain space of your home. You envision the furniture with the curtains up and how the colors will look with decor on the walls when it all comes together. Furthermore, once you move out or move on, without ever knowing how your life will turn out, your home always will be the focus of your attention because it’s there waiting for you when you return to it.
So, it’s important to look around at all you see and be grateful for the things you’ve chosen to surround yourself with. The significance of objects in your home are an extension of who you are, and more importantly, this collection makes you feel as though there is no place like home.
Location For better or worse, the place where we grew up usually retains an iconic status for us as we decide where we want to live. It’s just human nature to want to surround ourselves with what makes us feel most comfortable. The neighborhood, sidewalks, and appearance of the landscape help us choose where we’d like to script our course in life. Whether you like the smell of pine trees or the appearance of palm trees, choose an environment that makes you feel your best.
Furniture Function is the focus, and believe it or not, your personality is in your furniture. You may choose sleek and sophisticated, or laid-back and comfortable, or clean and simple, but rest assured, this decor makes a statement about you. It is a reflection of how you want others to see you. And although the way you choose your furniture may not be on purpose, it’s a good way to share who you really are. So, go for it, and electrify the room!
Living Things Plants and pets interact with your soul. When you embellish your interior space with living things, you’re not just adding life to your environment but value to your mind and body. These two things give you something to care for and allow you to feel wanted, but more importantly, on a spiritual level you feel needed in your own pace. So, whether you have a plant to water and prune, or a pet to feed and bath, either of these living things bring about health and happiness.
Photographs Pictures are a universal language. At any given moment you can recall a memory or engage in a conversation with someone when it comes to a photo. When you see your family and friends in a picture frame, or on the front of the refrigerator door, you embrace the memory that particular photo captured. This rejuvenates your life because your space reflects those you love the most. It’s not a joke. Pictures alone grab your attention and remind you of all the great memories your mind holds.
Collectables Objects possess energy. It’s true. By virtue of motion and positioning an object energy will pass through your home. For example, a ceiling fan rotates and a ball rolls, so these items possess kinetic energy because they are moving. And, while you look around your home and see most of the objects sitting still, on a basic level, they show where you are presently in life. The brilliance of these collectables, in a no-nonsense way, clearly shows your interconnectedness to the universe. Thoughts become things, so what you think about the most will manifest itself in your home. Those things, literally, surround you with energy.
