SKYE SANCHEZ, WORLD AIDS DAY EMBASSADOR
Volunteer ambassador of National AIDS Awareness Day, Skye Sanchez, sits down with StacyK in this exclusive interview to talk about her childhood. Remembering when she was six years old, Skye recalls happy memories being surrounded with friends and family, enjoying the beach together, and vacationing. But her world fell apart when her great-grandfather suddenly died, and she found out her parents were divorcing because her father was having an affair with another woman. Watch her open up about the sexual abuse she survived as she speaks candidly to parents who should think twice before allowing their children to sleep in a bedroom with older stepchildren brought into their lives after divorce. Using pills and alcohol to self-medicate, Skye shares with us her story of being sexually active at twelve years old and explains why looking for love in all the wrong places brings more pain into your life.
Skye also talks about why she is passionate about National AIDS Awareness Day and has made it her lifework to talk about HIV/AIDS.
WHAT IS WORLD AIDS DAY?
World AIDS Day takes place on December 1 each year. It is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV, and commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day. Visit the web page HERE
